“The contest will be huge. The selection is made from 50 participants doing business on six continents,” says Adam Walach, who holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Walmark. According to his opinion, owners of the largest Eastern European and Central European manufacturer of vitamins and supplements made on the basis of highly effective ingredients (for example, Proenzi, ImunActiv, Prostenal, Urinal, Viaderm, and others) not only attract attention with the company results, but also with the sibling threesome.
Interest in the story of three brother entrepreneurs from the CR, which began in 1990, is successful to the present. Even reporters of prestigious British dailies, the Financial Times and the Daily Telegraph, have demonstrated interest in it. “They have only chosen seven stories worldwide and ours is one of them. We had an hour-long interview last week with a reporter from the Financial Times. I had the impression that our journey to today’s form of Walmark genuinely interested her,” notes A. Walach. The Adam, Mariusz and Valdemar Walach brothers have been building their company together for 20 years. Walmark products have gained long-term trust and satisfaction among customers, which is confirmed by the results of the IMS Health survey: “Walmark is the bestselling brand in the Czech Republic, it boasts 14% of the market share.”
Today, as the holding company, the Walmark brand controls almost twenty other companies, which employ approximately 900 people in ten countries. The annual company turnover is around 2.5 billion Czech crowns.
In February of this year, the owners of Walmark received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 award in CR. The contest is attended by owners or managers of companies, who control at least 25 percent of company ownership shares, are responsible for the performance of their company and are active members of its top management.
The Entrepreneur of the Year contest was established by the company Ernst & Young in the USA in 1986. During its existence it has expanded into a number of countries around the world and is now held in 50 countries on 6 continents. The objective of the contest is to show the public exceptional personal examples in the field of business, who can be role models for young, starting entrepreneurs.
